A Journey Through India's Rich Culinary Heritage
Indian Culture was founded by Mohit and Pooja with a simple belief — that Indian food in Tasmania should be experienced the way we knew it growing up: full of flavour, warmth, and soul. When we arrived in Hobart, we realised that while people loved Indian cuisine, many had never explored its depth or regional diversity.
From the beginning, our mission has been to break stereotypes and highlight the richness and balance of Indian cuisine. We celebrate flavours from across India, from slow-cooked northern classics to delicate coastal curries, alongside signature dishes crafted with intention and modern refinement. Every plate carries a story, every spice carries a purpose, and every guest is welcomed with the philosophy we were raised with: Atithi Devo Bhava — the guest is God.

"The food was amazing. We ordered butter chicken, chicken biriyani and garlic cheese Naan as mains and kulfi for dessert. We loved the flavours of all the dishes. The butter chicken was SO GOOD. We also got a mango lassi and a Masala Gin. Mango lassi tasted amazing and the Masala gin was such a unique taste too. The service was great. And the atmosphere was very calming.
